NAILA in 2023
NAILA is an annual speech competition for young Australians who are learning Indonesian.
The competition is open to students in primary school, secondary school and university and young professionals. To enter the competition, contestants film themselves delivering a speech on a particular theme in Indonesian. These speeches are then evaluated by an independent panel of expert judges. The theme for NAILA 2023 was “Food/Makanan” with the question being “How does food bring communities together?” This year NAILA received 86 submissions across 7 award categories.
On Saturday 2 December 2023, the winners of the National Australia Indonesia Language Awards (NAILA) 2023 were recognised at the NAILA Awards Ceremony in Glebe Town Hall, Sydney.
